Brentford and Martin Allen may have been quiet on the player transfer front so far but with a complete upheaval in the playing squad looking set to take place, Martin Allen has done more to yet heighten speculation surrounding his future.

The Brentford boss admitted last week that he has no planned for another season in League One and with several higher profile jobs available Allen is sure to consider any offers which may come in for him,

"If the playing budget is cut, I will have a decision to make on my career."

"But I understand the financial restraints and I don't want to be the manager who makes this great club go bust."

Refusing to awknowledge that his future may lie away from Brentford in 2006/07 he said,

"That's hypothetical. I have one year to go on my contract and I want to get on with the job."

Allen also said,

"I have given the board a list of players I am interested in, but it's up to them and Bees United to discuss the future of the club before anything is decided."

Jay Tabb still looks set to move away from the club and on the situation he said,

"Brentford have offered me a new contract but, if I get the opportunity to go to a bigger club, I'd be a fool not to take it. I love it here, but I've got to better myself."

"So it looks like I'll be leaving if a good Championship or Premiership club comes in for me."

It is believed that Steve Coppell and Reading may come calling at some point.

Allen finished his interview by stating,

"You can only maintain success with youngsters and free transfers for so long. Brentford are at the crossroads either they can keep going forward or stand still."
