Yesterday Brentford's young squad faced a different kind of training when they visited neighbours and current Premiership leaders Chelsea's squad to play a training match.

The Bees line up included on loan Jerome Sobers, academy players Sean Hillier, Clark Masters and Scott Weight, it also featured Jamie Lawrence.

A large majority of the Bees youth players had been at college that day but played well against the Chelsea boys, holding them to a 0-0 draw up till half time.

During this period Chelsea introduced the returning Mikkael Forsell who made the difference, scoring one and setting up one, inan eventual 3-0 win.

Martin Allen was said to be pleased with all the players and the way they equiped themselves, he is looking to potentially do this kind of thing once more this season and hopefully coninue next season and felt it would be of great benefit to his players. Allen didnt watch the full game as he was conversing with his 'old friend' Jose Mourinho, prehaps they were swapping some tactics.
