'Brentford will be outsiders' say bookies

Many supporters will once again be forgiven for not paying much attention to the latest book makers odds (not unless they are about Wayne Rooney and England). However with the fixtures set to be released in around two weeks for the Coca Cola Leagues the book makers are preparing for an onslaught of betting regarding, who's going up, who's going down and who will be losing their jobs in all three divisions.

With little time to do anything but breathe, lose a manager and release a few players Brenford amongst other clubs would more helpfully be assesed in late July however bookmakers Beesbet today stated that they believe Brentford to be 'one of the outsiders' battling for a place in League One next season.

The playoffs last week saw the addition of Cheltenham to League, who unsuprisingly have been placed as favourites for relegation alongside Yeovil and Scunthorpe who are again expected to struggle after being promoted only recently.

Brentford are a modest 20/1 along with Gillingham and with the departure of Martin Allen are expected to struggle to hit the heights of the last two seasons.

League one's favourites for next year as in 2005/06 are Nottingham Forest who will be hoping that reputations count for everything as they look to rebuild for the future, with ambitions Collin Calderwood in charge they are priced at 7/2 to return to the Championship as Champions.

A spokes person for the betting firm said,

"League One is once more difficult to call."

"Last year we had suprises in the form of Southend, Colchester, Swansea and Brentford who we'd all predicted to do moderately well."

"Forest's reputation puts them in pole position for a Championship place along with Bristol City who built well and were unlucky to miss out on the playoffs at the last."

On Brentford he said,

"The loss of Martin Allen is replicated in their odds being lengthened. We believe that they will do well to obtain a playoff place and will need a combination of luck and new signs to win the League."
