As the year moved on faster and the end of 2004 approached Brentford were in an excellent position in the league
.

After two tough games saw us defeated twice at the end of October the 6th placed Bees aimed to put things right at the beginning of the month starting in Yorkshire were we faced Huddersfield.

A fairly equal game produced a 1-1 draw with Sam Sodje claiming a headed goal to attempt to put our stuttering form back on track.

Next we faced the challenge of the FA cup and the tough challenge of League One promotion chasing Bristol City after a draw at Ashton Gate with a goal from John Salako we pulled the reds back to Griffin Park for a Sky Sports Live clash and also drew 1-1.

Frampton scored in normal time and as the Bees held on to a draw through extra time penalties loomed for the visiting TV crews. Brentford were clearly spurred on by the watching audience and defeated Bristol 4-3 to advance to the next round.

Another tough game saw us defeated 2-1 against Bradford City the month went from bad to worse for the Bees as we were defeated comfortably 2-0 against table toppers Hull City who condemed Brentford to another away defeat and moved us down to 12th place.

As the month went on it was clear that Brentford were struggling to keep up the incredible pace they had set for themselves, it was important that we got an early win in December to make sure that we could hold onto at least a top half finish.
