Having been placed in temporary charge since the departure of Scott Fitzgerald, Barry Quin will continue with his interim position with Butcher's appointment taking effect from Monday 7th May.

As yet his assistant has been un-named but the club stated that the role will be filled by someone with 'experience of the lower leagues'.

After making the appointment Greg Dyke told the official website,

"We are delighted to have obtained the services of Terry Butcher as manager." said Dyke

"His record as a player is second to none and stands as an inspiration to others."

"With that experience under his belt we believe that Terry is the right person to lead the Brentford fightback."
