Despite only stepping into the Brentford Manager hotseat yesterday, Terry Butcher looks determined to begin preparations for the new season as early as possible to banish the memory of a disasterous 2006/7 for his current club.

The Bees boss has been working behind the scenes since his appointment and with Barry Quin running the playing side of the club, he has been able to run the rule over his players in preparation for the opening of the transfer window.

Confirming there will be 'significant changes' the bees boss admitted that the clubs fortunes must be reversed quickly,

"We need everyone at the club pulling in the same direction."

Refusing to comment on any speculation regarding signings Butcher admitted that several players may be sold but stated,

"It is a club which needs to be shaken and stirred up a little bit. It needs to be brought together again."

"We need to have a spirit in place so that everyone at the club feels welcome and special, and a big part of what is happening."
