Despite the positive vibes which Leroy Rosenior was giving off during his intervew with the papers yesterday, todays on field performance showed that Brentford were still suffering somehwhat of a hangover from their dissapointing Cup exit during the week.

3-0 behind in the first half, their opponents Chesterfield showed all the ability and enthusiasm they showed during their defeat of Premiership Manchester City and in fairness probably deserved the three points.

What the manager said?
Bees manager Leroy Rosenior was clearly disapointed with the poor showing his side gave in the first half,

"I thought we defended badly and played like a side with no confidence."

"Once they got on top their was no way back for us, the crowd got behind them and despite my heart feeling that one goal would give us a chance, my head knew that the game was only going one way"

He still however felt that the bees performed in the second period,

"The second half was much better, we played like a team and were unlucky not to get another goal back, to be fair they had chances as well."

What the fans said?
Steve Elliot from Bromsgrove said,

"Brentford's performance today was one of a team who didnt believe in themselves."

"From start to finish we were truly awful"

His thoughts were echoed by Martin Robertson,

"Playing like that we deserved to lose"

"There was no width, no energy and no spirit."
