Christian Eriksen admits he would 'love' to play in Champions League again

Christian Eriksen has revealed he has received offers from other clubs as he ponders his future after joining Brentford in January.

The 30-year-old has made a seamless return to professional football after suffering a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 last year. He's starred for a Bees side that are now comfortably sat in 13th in the Premier League, forming an efficient attacking partnership with Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeumo.

However, his excellent performances have attracted glancing eyes elsewhere. 90min understands former club Tottenham are confident of re-signing the Denmark international if manager Antonio Conte stays at the club and they qualify for the Champions League.

Speaking to Viaplay, Eriksen said: "I do not think that there are some football players who can just pick and choose between clubs, because there are many criteria that come into play. There are also many clubs that need to see one's path before that happens.

"I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we make a decision. I would love to play Champions League football again. I know how much fun it is, but it isn't essential for me."

On this week's agenda is Erling Haaland's transfer to Manchester City, Ralf Rangnick recommending Konrad Laimer to Manchester United and the latest on the contract situations of Youri Tielemans and Sadio Mane.

Brentford have faced a struggle in trying to persuade Eriksen to sign an extension to his six-month deal. The midfielder spent seven years with Spurs and was also part of Conte's Inter side that won the 2020/21 Serie A title.

Bees manager Thomas Frank remains optimistic he will stay at the club, recently saying: "I always believe we have a very good chance. I know he is happy here, he is enjoying his football. It is a decision that will be taken at the end of the season."
