Christian Eriksen discusses returning to scene of cardiac arrest

Christian Eriksen has confessed that he is keen to give fans something else to remember about Parken Stadium in Copenhagen when he returns there with Denmark to face Serbia on Tuesday.

The last time Eriksen was at the stadium was 12 June 2021 in Denmark's opening fixture at Euro 2020. His country lost 1-0 to Finland but the game is better remembered for the cardiac arrest Eriksen suffered during the first half.

Not only has the player made a full recovery, but he is back on the pitch with Brentford and has made it clear that he wants to move on from the harrowing incident and start making memories with a ball at his feet once again.

He scored on his return to the Denmark team last time out against Netherlands and is set for a return to Parken, before which Eriksen has stressed he expects a raucous welcome from home fans.

"It's something that you can't prepare for," Eriksen said.

"It's just going to be one of those moments. The reception in Holland was very big and I expect that it's going to be even bigger here at the place where it happened. People will see it, people will be talking about it and then everything will be back to normal. They're going to have a new memory."
