Coppell agrees that Watford are scum

He said ""Gavin has had a lot on his mind and I didn't feel I could play him against City.

"The way Watford have done business has been diabolical and it has genuinely angered me."

He also commented on the Bees rest of the season "There are 30 points still to play for and a lot can happen. The teams who react best to defeats over the coming weeks will probably prevail.

"All the top sides are suffering hiccups, my team included. I'm never totally sure how we're going to play, but in this game we were very resilient at the back.

"It wasn't that different to a number of matches we have lost narrowly. If City had scored early on when they were on top, it would have been hard to get back into it but we rode our luck a bit at times and took our chances when they came.

"Considering we were stuck in a motorway traffic jam for over an hour and had to have lunch at a service station, it was a good performance.

"Perhaps we have hit on a new way of preparing. It's cheaper than a hotel, but I wasn't too impressed with some of the lads' choice of food in these days when nutrition is considered so important!"

Wilson said: "They had the rub of the green in a very tight and competitive match. We hit a post early on and, had Lee Peacock's header gone in, it might have been a different story.

"I felt we started very brightly and took the game to Brentford - then two moments of defensive indecision in the second half changed things.

"After that, they defended very well and we got frustrated. We lost our rhythm and couldn't create many clear chances.

"Now we have to pick things up. While everyone is disappointed, we're still in the thick of a promotion race I believe will go to the last game."
