The Bees continued their quest for victories in pre season with a game in Martin Allen's temporary home for a period of his life Dagenham.

The Conference side had invited the Bees as preparation for the new season as they attempt to gain a place in League Two. The first half was fairly quiet, both sides took a while to settle down. However despite the early period of tenseness it was the Daggers who pressed forward first.

Testing Bankole after five minutes and scoring after 25 mins through a nicely taken volley from Paul Bruce. The Bees offered little in the way of a threat with Rankin dragging a low shot wide after a quarter of the game gone. Jay Tabb also tested the home keeper with a curling effort from the restart.

Sam Tillen impressed after coming on after 33 mins and set up a Skulason chance which the keeper saved well. Lloyd Owusu also set up the Icelander from 15 yards but he put his shot just over.

Only a great block from Andrew Frampton stopped the Daggers taking a 2-0 lead as the goal scorer tried to double his tally in the last minute of the first half.

Rankin found more spaces in the second half and had two shots well saved by the opposition keeper. Great amounts of posession came the Bees way but they couldnt seem to create any clear cut chances until the 57th minute when a great Kevin O'Connor cross just flew past the head of Owusu but to the feet of Rankin who steadied himself and then placed the ball low past the keeper.

Brentford made some changes and their higher level experience started to show as two chances went begging from Tillen and Campbell who both placed their shots narrowly over. Brooker then had a shot cleared off the line as Brentford looked to take the lead.

The moment came when Campbell played a stunning volleyed pass to Brooker who this time finished after rounding the keeper. The combination was then reversed for number three when Brooker's backheal made it's way into the path of Campbell who finished one on one from close range.

It nearly became four when some good link up play led to a good chance for Fitzgerald however the ball eluded him at the last moment. A good work out for all was applauded at the end by Martin and his coaching staff who praised their team for a great performance.
