Former Brentford captain today joined Walsall of League Two leaving behind good memories and nearly 200 appearances for the bees.

Though his last appearance was in November, Martin Allen his former manager always believed that Dobson had talent as did another ex-Brentford manager, Steve Coppell who took him on loan to Reading for a five month period at the end of last season.

Failing to break into the now Premiership squad, he relvealed that he had the chance to join the promoted team but wasn't guarenteed first team football, something which he feels he needs,

"I am looking forward to the challenge. I have been at Brentford a long time and the move feels right, I like the ideas of the management and have gone with my heart."

On his old club he said,

"Having been associated with Brentford since the age of nine, naturally it was difficult to leave. However this is a new start for me."
