Sixteen games without a win, Brentford go into the game with Cheltenham this weekend needing a boost. Fitzgerald speaking about his new role seemed extremely enthusiastic,

When questioned if he'd like to continue through his interim period as manager Fitzgerald said,

"I'll do it as long as the board want me to do it."

"We've made slight changes, nothing major, we will only have four days to work with the players and we feel they need as many minutes as possible on the training pitch in order for us to claim all three points"

Despite only being with the players for a couple of days so far, Fitzgerald seemed to have a good idea of the way he wants his side to play in his first game,

"Straight away I knew the team I wanted to play on Friday, inuries permitting of course, we're still waiting for a couple."

"I know what I want to do, and that style will be winning football"

He also had a message for the supporters,

"Come along and watch what we're going to do on Friday night. You will see passion, and that is for sure"
