Fitzgerald misses out on monthly award

Scott Fitzgerald narrowly missed out on claiming the February League One manager of the month award as this weekends opposition manager Nigel Adkins was named by Chris Kamara as the leagues top manager.

Scunthorpe enjoyed a 100% winning record during the month of February, winning all five league games and only conceeding only two goals.

Beating off rivals Swansea, Bristol City and Crewe, the club extended it's unbeaten run to 13 games.

Brentford manager Scott Fitzgerald was in line for the award after having dragged his side of the bottom of the League but along with Dario Gradi (Crewe) and Willie Donachie (Millwall) lost out to the manager of the League leaders.
