With Brentford choosing to delay the naming of their new manager till after the Port Vale game at the weekend, caretaker boss Scott Fitzgerald will get time to end his temporary reign as bees manager with the game on Saturday.

Having clawed a 1-1 draw out of Tranmere last weekend the boss admitted he was thrilled to have ended a run of seven defeats but insisted that it doesnt mean that things are all rosy in the camp,

"I accept we will be beaten, and I accept we are not going to win every week but the players have to go about things the right way", he said

"But what I won't accept is going down without a fight. It's no good trying to play pretty football if you don't have the other side of the game. "

"The other side is what comes first."
