Fitzgerald rues poor start

Despite losing 1-0 last night and failing to put more pressure on those around the, Scott Fitzgerald did not seem too downhearted during his post match press conference.

Although admittedly, he opened up to a 'missed oppertunity' the rookie manager felt that his side had given it their best,

"In recent games we've taken the initiative by scoring first and then had something to right for."

"It's more difficult the other way round."

He did however state that he felt a bad start was behind Brentford trouble,

"Sometime you don't start a game well and it's really hard to get back into it. The start is vital and it sets you up for the rest of the game. I felt we didn't start the game at all well and were second best all over."

He continued,

"It could be that they were suffering from fatigue. Playing Saturday and today could have been a factor I suppose."

Ahead of a weekend visit to Valley Parade to take on Bradford this weekend, Fitz said,

"There were positive to take from last night. In the second half the work rate and enthusiasm were much better. If we put teams under as much pressure as we did in the second half I think we'll be doing OK."
