Despite ending a run of seven League defeats in a row, Brentford's winless streak was extended to seventeen games following the 1-1 draw with improving Tranmere Rovers.

Scott Fitzgerald's young side had impressed early after taking a 1-0 lead against Tranmere but were pegged by a goal just before half time.

The caretaker manager was happy however that Brentford managed to avoid defeat against a very good side,

"The determination was there for everyone to see, but it should be there every week."

"They did exactly what I asked and didn't let themselves down. I thought we were on the front foot for most of the game and we were pushing on."

"We began to win our personal battles as I spoke about on Tuesday and results when we do that we begin to come out on top."

Fitzgerald praised the efforts of his side following a 4-0 collapse against Doncaster on Tuesday,

"I thought the attitude of the players were excellent. Several of them were in the wars, but hopefully those players will be fit for the next game."

The caretaker warned his side not to take their foot off the gas and claimed that there is still plenty more to come from his side,

"Effort will only take you so far, but i'll take that for the moment. Everyone here is desperate for a win and the supporters clapping us off at the end made me smile inside but we can still improve."
