Despite performing well yesterday against Port Vale, Brentford's long losing streak continued after they were beaten 1-0 at Vale Park.

In what looks to be Scott Fitzgerald's final game in charge, the caretaker saw his side defeat and failing to capitalise on the excellent point they gained against Tranmere last week.

"It was a good performance and we've been making good progress over the last couple of weeks." said an unhappy Fitzgerald,

"We should have drawn this game at the very least."

The manager continued,

"The players have been working very hard and we are getting there. If they carry on being positive I'm sure we can climb the table."

Speaking on the managerial situation at Brentford Fiztgerald commented,

""All I know is I will be in charge when I go into work on Monday and we'll take it from there."
