Fitzgerald unhappy with away defeat

Following his teams defeat to Carlisle yesterday Scott Fitzgerald spoke of more frustration following yet more bad luck for his side.

Having dominated the first period, the bees felt they were denied a perfectly reasonable goal when Simon Cox hit a free kick which squirmed past the keeper into the corner. The referee however saw things differently and deemed that Brentford defender Matt Heywood had interfered and chalked the goal off.

In the second half Brentford conceeded two sucker punch goals and thus continued their run of not winning a game which now runs back to September.

Fitzgerald said,

"I thought the goal was valid - I spoke to the referee and he said that Matt Heywood was interfering"

"I don't know for certain until I see the video; but that still isnt going to change anything."

Fitzgerald also felt disapointed that two such simple goals had been conceeded by his side,

"The first goal, someones not gone with their man and I think their centre half was allowed far too much space to attack the ball and put them on the offensive again. Clark's not really had a save to make"

"I felt out chances came from long range, until Callum had a shot near the end and Charlie went round the keeper. We are creating chances every single week and its frustrating because we have created more chances than the other side for the last three weeks but we have not been able to take them."
