After confirming his place as manager last week, Brentford manager Scott Fitzgerald revealed in post match comments that he is well underway in the mission to strengthen his Brentford side following another League One defeat confirmed their Christmas place at the bottom of the table.

Having not won since beating Bradford City in September the board revealed last week that money has been made available for Fitzgerald to do some work in the transfer window and the man himself confirmed that he is eagerly anticipating his chance to get hold of some transfer targets,

"We have problems, but I think a fresh boost in january is just what we need."

"At the moment the players are doing exactly what I want, but results aren't coming. I'm delighted with the way that the midfield and defense are playing."

"Strikers are on the list of players to bring in. We've got plenty of targets in mind. Not just forwards though in all positions. Win, lose or draw today they were already in place and there are people we want to get in."
