Three sides will be joining the Nationwide Second Division after relegation from the Nationwide First Divison.

Old favourites Grimsby Town and Stevie Coppell's led Brighton & Hove Albion will be returning, the Sussex outfit after only a year's absence, and making a first appearance for a number of years at this level will be ex-Premiership outfit, Sheffield Wedneday, likely to have one of the best, if not the best stadium in the division.

Coming from the other direction and promoted from the Nationwide Third Division are Rushden & Diamonds, whom Brentford will play in a competitive league fixture for the first time, Hartlepool United and again another old favourite, Wrexham.
