Loaned out to Yeovil and Grimbsy last season and joining the Glovers on a permenant baisis this season Matt Harold has been given a second crack at League One after struggling for a first team place at Brentford.

Speaking on his confidence that his current side will not be drawn into a relegation battle Harold praised his former manager for helping him develop as a player,

"I'm only 21, but I think I've got the potential to be a Premier League player, though obviously luck plays a big part as well as hard work"

"I am greatful for the work which Martin Allen put me through at Brentford, I was spotted by them as a 17 year old loanee."

Unfortunately for the striker the influx of experienced forwards at Brentford prevented him from progressing as Isaiah Rankin and Deon Burton, followed by LLoyd Owusu were signed by the management team however he insists his experience at Brentford was a worthwhile one,

"Martin Allen taught me things I will always be grateful for. He helped me with the 'dirty' side of the game you have to do as a forward such as closing down players and dropping back to help the team."

"He is a very good manager. He did a lot of working with us as regards our shape and shutting the other team down and that is why Brentford don't concede many goals"
