As revealed on this website in a rumour mill story back on May 23 (link), Brentford have now confirmed the signing of highly sought after non-league striker, Matt Harrold.

The 18-year-old has today agreed to put pen to paper on a one-year contract at Griffin Park, having already appeared twice for Brentford's reserves towards the end of last season.

Harrold, who has spent the past week at the club on trial, signed for Ryman Division One North club, Harlow Town, in November 2002 from divisional rivals Wingate & Finchley and made an impressive start, netting a brace on his debut for the Hawks.

The youngster previously had short spells at fellow Ryman Clubs, Aveley and Grays Athletic.
