In a gripping and exciting game in West Yorkshire this afternoon Brentford went down to only their second defeat of the season against Hudderesfield.

So close to victory and a place on top of the League Brentford conceded two last minute goals and were defeated 3-2 sliding down to 4th place in the process, as usual we heard from main players in the game.

What the manager said?

Martin Allen seemed shellshocked after the game,

"I can't believe what happened. We just lost concentration as we thought the game was won"

"I don't think anyone in paticular was to blame but collectively we need to have a talk about it on Monday"

"Up and till the 89th minute we looked comfortable all game long and I could only see us winning the game"

What the players said?

Andy Frampton was also disapointed by the Huddersfield late show,

"We obviously thought we were home and dry but then all of a sudden we seemed to be rocking."

"I think the game was fairly evenly poised and whoever got two goals ahead was going to win the game"

Marcus Gayle was also unhappy,

"The boys were gutted after the game, we were so close to a great victory but in the end we threw it away."

What the pundits said?

Stuart Hall the BBC pundit commenting for Radio 5 commented that the game was a credit to League One football,

"In the last week the game has some in for a lot of stick from various quarters but today both sides were going for it, and it was a fine exibition of English football, no defensive tactics everyone chasing the three points"

On Martin Allen Hall commented,

"The Huddersfield fans seemed a bit unhappy with Allen's colourful language but he's great fun to watch"

"I think with the influx of foreigns becoming so large in management it's great to see a return to the passionate manager not afraid to speak his mind, very much like Stuart Pearce"

What the fans said?

Stuart Mcgill Brentford fan said,

"I'm so gutted we couldn't pick up a win today, I was confident we could pick up at least a point but when it gets to 92 minutes you don't expect to get beaten"

Charlotte Williams of Huddersfield said,

"Well im pleased we won but I left after 88 minutes thinking the game was lost! It was a tough battle for us as Brentford are a good physical team but Pawel Abbott was brilliant again and his goal was something special"
