Stephen Hunt completed his move to Reading earlier today
Reading continued the trend of player switching between themselves and Brentford today as they signed Stephen Hunt on a free transfer.

Steve Coppell made Hunt his second signing of the summer, the player had previously worked with the manager at Brentford in his earlier years.

The 24 year old has just 12 months to prove his point after only been given a one year contract but Coppell said,

"Stephen has already done well in his career and I hope at Reading he can express himself and prove my judgement of him right"

Martin Allen said,

"It's sad to lose a player of such talent but it's not right to keep a player at a club without his heart being fully there, i respect him for being honest and admitting he wanted to move on and I wish him the best of luck at Reading"

Lloyd Owusu, Rick Newman and Paul Brooker moved in the opposite direction to Hunt in seperate deals and trading has been frequant in recent history between the clubs.

Reading Chairman John Madejsi said,

"He has shown considerable potential at his time with Brentford and this is an excellent oppertunity for him to make his mark at a higher level"
