Former Brentford player Stephen Hunt looks set to be playing in the Championship next season.

The 23 year old winger was released by Brentford two weeks ago and had been expecting to sign for Bradford next season but Colin Todd revealed the player had a change of heart,

"We had agreed terms, and he has gone back on his word. He even went for a medical before deciding to change his mind"

Todd who was clearly very angry about the situation went onto say,

"Even his agent advised him to come to Bradford. We could have offered him first team football - at Reading he'll be part of a very large squad"

Hunt attempted to defend himself in the press today saying,

"I know I will leave a lot of people disapointed. I am truly sorry but I have to go where my heart takes me"

He continued,

"I came over from Ireland fully intending to sign for Bradford, but as soon as I stepped off the plane I recieved a call from Reading"

Reading now possess four players who did well under Coppell at Brentford in 2001/02 - Sidwell, Owusu, Ingimarsson and now Hunt.
