Dirk Lehmann (pictured), the much travelled German forward, will not be returning to Brentford, after agreeing to sign a lucrative six-month contract with Yokohama Marinos.

The 31-year-old had initially jetted out of England for a trial with the Japanese club ten days ago, just 24 hours after netting for the Bees in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Nationwide First Division side, Millwall.

Brentford manager Wally Downes will now be forced to focus his attention elsewhere as he seeks to add more experience to his young forward line.

Meanwhile, Jamie Fullarton is to link up with Nationwide Third Division outfit, Southend United, managed by ex-Bee Steve Wignall.

The Shrimpers have also offered a trial to Leon Constantine, the striker who made two league starts for Brentford last season.
