The boss is back and ready for the new season
Martin Allen was back in the country this morning after enjoying a relaxing weeks break in the sun with his wife. The boss was eager to get back and get on with business, hence his first action back on UK soil was to update his column on the official website.

Allen talked first about his attempts to renew John Griffin and Adrian Whitbread's contracts in the near future, he felt both men had done an excellent job in his absense and believes that they will be a part of the club for a long time.

On transfers Allen said,

"Negotiations are going well but unfortunately it is not just a case with the players we have targeted of just walking in and getting them to sign a contract. Unfortunately for the good players it means I am competing against clubs who are able to pay more money."

He did state though that,

"We are close on several areas to getting some deals done."

The boss finished his latest article by saying that he is preparing to take his UEFA Pro License this week but is hoping to be in touch with the fans before the fixtures are announced on thursday.
