New contract for O'Connor

Before dipping in to the transfer market himself this morning Martin Allen secured the future of Kevin O'Connor who signed a new deal with the club today.

The player (pictured above) has agreed to extend his stay at Brentford for another two years and after impressing in League One this season the boss has seen it fit to reward the clubs former youth captain with a new deal keeping him at Griffin Park for the forceable future.

Martin Allen said,

"I'm delighted that Kevin has signed an extension to his current contract, he is a model professional who is prepared to put in many extra hours oon the training ground"

The boss had heard rumours of interest from other League One and Championship parites but wanted to make it clear that O'Connor's future lies in West London,

"I believe he will get better and it's great to see a player come through the ranks the way he has. It's yet another good young player signed up, I see this as an important part of my planning for the future."
