Congratulations to Southend United from League Two who won through in extra time against Lincoln City in the playoffs this afternoon.

Penalties looked to be on the adjenda for the 2nd week in a row at the Millenium Stadium Cardiff, as two closely matched teams played out a 0-0 stalemate through 90 minutes.

The deadlock was finally broken by Southend 'Star' Freddy Eastwood who fired in close range from a corner in injury time in the first period of extra time. Pressing forward for an equaliser Lincoln were caught by Darren Jupp's 1st goal in 10 years to make the score 2-0 and end the 'Imps' hopes of promotion.

Southend made it third time lucky in the arena which had seen them just 4 weeks ago lose the LDV Final against Wrexham a club they now swap places with to become a League One side in 2005/06.

We look forward to playing them and once again congratulate them for an excellent well deserved victory.
