After losing the previous captain before he even became in charge of Brentford football club, Leroy Rosenior refused to name Ricky Newman's successor until the squad was fully built.

Today at training however he informed Kevin O'Connor that he will be the new captain, naming Andrew Frampton as his vice and Stuart Nelson as the club captain.

Despite stalling on a new deals both O'Connor and Frampyon were picked out as the men to lead Brentford. O'Connor was one of Brentford's start performers last season netting goals from right back and providing solid defensive cover. Frampton was a bit part player last season but Rosenior feels that this time around he will play a major role for the club.

After selecting his men, Rosenior said,

"I feel it is the right time for all three players to be seen and accepted as senior players. They have all shown in their performances and the attitude they have displayed that they have the aptitude to perform theur duties well. I feel they have the respect of the other players and will perform their duties responsibly."
