With two games and sucessful pre season behind him, no player at Brentford could be more delighted with the club start than Oli Skulason.

After damaging his cruciate ligaments this time last year the Icelandic player has recieved a call up to his International squad after putting his troubled start with the club behind him.

Representing the Under 21's Oli has been called up to the senior squad for the first time and joining Barcelona's Eidur Gudjohnson he will battle for a place in the team against Spain a week today.

Skulason scored the winning goal against Blackpool on Saturday and after hearing that he has been called up to the squad his manager heaped praise upon the youngster,

"I'm delighted for the lad after his enforced absense. He's getting fitter and stronger day by day and this recognition is a real lift for him and of course the Club particularily so soon after his return."
