"Oli is a player who i've been after for a while and as soon as I heard the sad news about his release from Arsenal I intended to make a move for him"

Undaunted by the hype which the manager has surrounded him with Oli spoke saying,

"Even at 22 I look at this as a very important move in my career, a step up from reserve football without a doubt, knowing that the manager was interested in signing me for a long time was a huge compliment to me."

The U21 Icelandic captain summed up by saying,

"You always need to improve and for me I need to prove that I am a big league player, and prove Martin right, in that I'm the right player for this club"
