With Terry Butcher stepping into the job on Monday, outgoing caretaker manager Barry Quin admitted the he had mixed emotions about stepping into his old role.

On the official website Quin reflected on what he felt had been an honour to be in charge of Brentford and was pleased to give the fans a memorable victory against Port Vale in their last Griffin Park outing. Quin said,

"I was very disapointed that we couldn't finish off the last game in the same way but  again the support was brilliant."

Quin said,

"It was been a massive learning curve for me and I'm sure I will take the experience of the last month forward with me. With every week and sometimes day that went by we seemed to face another problem" he said.

Barry did however finish off by stating his 'delight' that Terry Butcher has been made the new manager and ended by saying,

"I am pleased and honoured to have been able to help during this period and absolutely blown away by the good wishes and the unconditional support I have recieved from our loyal fans. Never did I doubt myself or the attitude of the players and the young guns did us proud, like them I'm sure, I am already looking forward to next season"
