Rasmus Kristensen top of Brentford's full-back shortlist

Brentford are looking to strengthen in the full-back areas during the summer transfer window, 90min understands, with Red Bull Salzburg defender Rasmus Kristensen a top target.

The Bees played much of their maiden Premier League season with only two natural senior full-backs - Rico Henry and B team graduate Mads Roerslev. Winger Sergi Canos often filled in as a wing-back, while centre-back Kristoffer Ajer filled in at right-back in a back four in the final weeks of the campaign.

After racking up an impressive 46 points in their first year in the top flight since 1947, Brentford are keen to ensure they become a consolidated Premier League outfit and are on the hunt for reinforcements.

90min understands Thomas Frank's side are looking closely at a deal for Salzburg and Denmark defender Kristensen, who is valued at around £10m. However, the 24-year-old is also wanted by fellow Premier League sides Brighton and Leeds, while Borussia Dortmund are among several German Bundesliga teams keeping an eye on him.

This week they discuss whether Sadio Mane will leave Liverpool for Bayern Munich, Manchester United's pursuit of Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, Newcastle's plans for Moussa Diaby and Sven Botman & Jorginho's future at Chelsea.

Brentford's other targets at full-back include Norwich's Max Aarons, who was linked with moves to Barcelona and Bayern Munich in previous summers.

Bologna and Scotland star Aaron Hickey, who is wanted by Arsenal and is capable of playing on either flank, is also under consideration.
