Reserve League gets a new sponsor

Brentford's reserves will compete in the newly titled Pontin's Holiday League Central & East Division next season, after the holiday company announced that they have agreed to become sponsors of the Football Combination for the next two years, with an option for a third, in a deal that also involves a return to sponsoring the Northern-based Central League.

Pontin's, whose previous sponsorship experience had been confined to the Central League, have returned to football after an absence of three years and their expansion to incorporate the southern-based competition should be of enormous benefit, as Football Combination secretary Derryck Daughtery, pointed out:

"I am delighted that Pontin's has returned to football sponsorship and agreed to expand its involvement to include The Football Combination".

With the news earlier this week, that in a bid to reduce travelling costs, there would be a realignment of clubs within the Southern section of the reserve competition, the full revised list of member clubs for the 2003/04 Pontin's Holiday League Central & East Division season is:

Aldershot Town, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Cambridge United, Colchester United, Crystal Palace, Gillingham, Luton Town, Millwall, Northampton Town, Norwich City, Peterborough United, Queens Park Rangers, Southend United and Wycombe Wanderers.
