Rosenior ready for season to begin

With just one friendly left scheduled in their calender for tomorrow night, preparations are nearly completed at Brentford for the season opener next week at Griffin Park.

With a tough 42 game schedule ahead of them Brentford manager Leroy Rosenior belives that the squad are 'almost ready' for the curtain raiser next week.

The Brentford manager himself admitted 'excitement' as next weeks home game will be his first competetive encounter since replacing Martin Allen as the bees chief over the Summer. With trips to Northampton and Brighton to be made after their opening day game with Blackpool it is sure to be a make or break first week for the club.

Having experienced somewhat of a wirlwind summer, selling three key men and having already lost the services of eight players before he arrived Rosenior is set to be working with one of the smallest squads in the League. Having added just four players it appears that some of Brentford's younger players will be getting a chance this time around.

"It's going to be an interesting season for sure" said Rosenior,

"We're lost some good players, yes, but I'm more than confident that the players we have here at the club can perform and perform to a high level."

After going so close the last two seasons in League One, Brentford will be hoping it's third time lucky. But having lost the services of Sodje, Tabb and Turner time will only tell whether Brentford can once again be challenging at the top of the League.
