Rosenior shows practise makes perfect

After steering Brentford into the second round of the FA Cup last night Leroy Rosenior revealed in his post match interview that the club had practised penalties before the Swindon tie and believes this was a major factor in their victory.

However Rosenior did reveal that in training the only man to not practise was Stuart Nelson and because of this his decisive spot kick was a bit of a supprise to all,

"We decided Stuart would take the last penalty in the centre circle. We practised penalties yesterday and everyone took one except Stuart but when I was asking for voluenteers he stepped up and all credit to him as he proved to be the hero."

"When we were 2-0 down in penalties I though we were still in with a chance as the lads did well yesterday and I figured that most of them would score."

He however revealed his disapointment and his side once more making things difficult for themselves,

"I don't want to go through that again. We were 2-0 up and were a little bit naive. I thought the referee was 'interesting'. I should be careful what I say!"

Rosenior was however pleased with the performance and praised Matt Heywood on his debut,

"The experienced lads, especially Matt were brilliant. He helped out all the young players around him. He was getting booed but he loved that. That motivated him in the end."

"I think the players are enjoying it and buying into the new style of play. It would be nice if we could have a rest from injuries and get a few back; it would help us no end. No matter what team I put out they'll give 100% and thats all you can ask."
