Rosenior still holds faith in youth

Despite obvious supporter unrest following Saturday's FA Cup defeat to Doncaster, Leroy Rosenior is still full of confidence that Brentford can move forwards this season.

Having not won in fourteen games and being knocked out of all three cups, hope looks sparce for Brentford as they take on Crewe this weekend knowing that anything but a win could leave them almost certainly fighting a relegation battle this season.

Two successful seasons under Martin Allen have led supporters to aim their hopes higher than a mid table finish but Rosenior insists that Brentford's young players will end their run of bad form soon,

"It's not an excuse," said Rosenior when questioned about his young side,

"The fact is I only have whats in front of me to work with. The young lads are working very hard here and I'm confident that they can still turn this into a 'something' season for Brentford."

Picking out John Mousinho after his performance at the weekend Rosenior said,

"John is what he is - a young lad who is still learning the game, and he will make mistakes"

"I have no problem with that, though, and it disappoints me when people get on his back.

"When he makes a mistake, he will try to get it right the next time, and I have no problem with that. I have a lot of respect for him, because he goes out and really tries."

Rosenior ruled out the possibility of him stepping aside at Brentford despite fan pressure mounting on Greg Dyke and said,

"I'm only thinking about the game ahead. People can write and say what they like but I'm focused on Crewe at the weekend and getting the three points which could turn our season round."
