Rosenior wants Brentford to move on from Allen

Heading into the season, Brentford FC appear to be a much weakened side to the one which has made the playoff semi finals for each of the last two season.

The hard work and effort which saw them overcome adversity and avoid relegation three years ago was partly due to the management of Martin Allen. Since his depsture however Allen's name has very much been the focus of Brentford football club despite him handing in his resignation and leaving to join the MK Dons.

After just two months in the job, new boss Leroy Rosenior has suggested that all the talk about Martin Allen and his methods are having a negative effect on the club,

"I'm fed up of hearing about Martin." said Rosenior,

"All I hear is how Martin Allen used to do things, but Martin is gone - he didn't want to be here"

With three tough games in the first week of the season, Brentford could straight away know whether their latest campaign will be a struggle or whether they can reach the heights they have done in 2005 and 2006.

However Rosenior believes that to move forward, the club, its supporters and more importantly the press must forget about the clubs previous administation,

"I know Martin very well and know he is a strong character, but it seems everyone has been hypnotised by Martin. I'm not interested in it.

"Perhaps the club was about Martin Allen in some respects, because he is all people talk about. Everyone at the club has moved on - but the press keep asking me questions about Martin."
