Last updated : 26 November 2005 By Smallsy
A mere 272 Brentford fans travelled to Scunthorpe today to watch Brentford play, however all Bees fans will be delighted at the fact they completed a league double over their opponents, the first of what will hopefully be many this season.

Goals from Pratley (2) and Brooker, moved Brentford uptowards the chasing pack, with Southend dropping points Brentford are now only 2 points behind one of their next league opponents. As usual we heard from Brentford's staff, fans and players.

What the manager said?

After a busy week Martin Allen was once again delighted with the way his team performed,

"Yet again away from home we've done the business, I think it was a real team effort today and we throughly deserved the victory"

"Last week it was disapointing to be two goals down and today we had to battle back but our fighting spirit came through and I think think the scoreline flattered us at all"

The boss was delighted that Pratley managed to get on the scoresheet after a week in which the manager had praised the player in the press,

"It looks as if my words did the trick, he's always lively in training and today I'm delighted he found the net for the first time in a Brentford shirt"

What the players said?

The double goalscorer Pratley himself was delighted with the way the team played,

"It was a bit disapointing to concede a goal so early but I think that woke us up, once we scored I didnt think there would be another other result than an away win"

Speaking on his own personal performance Darren said,

"I had a good game but I've been playing well recently. It was nice to get on the scoresheet and I hope i'm beginning to pay back the manager for his faith in me"

DJ Cambell said,

"It was an all round superb performance by the boys and I definately think we deserved the 3-1 victory. We're on a bit of a roll recently and I hope we can take this to next week's FA Cup game"

Stuart Nelson echoed the thoughts of his team mates saying,

"It was good to keep out record going, away from home we've been paticularily strong and I'd like to think we can win through next week and then concentrate on the league"

What the fans said?

George Allen a Scunthorpe fan said,

"I think a result would have been fair today, Brentford we're very physical but we gave as good as we got, it was just one of those days when nothing seemed to be going right"

Delighted Rebecca Davies spoke to me afterwards saying,

"It was definately worth travelling all this way, Brentford were much the better team and we probably could have beaten them by a bigger margin"
