One of the five recruits this summer has been speaking to the press about the delights of playing for Brentford FC.

With his experience at one of the top clubs in Europe alongside players such as Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira, that is high praise from ex-Arsenal youngster Oli Skulason.

However upon leaving Highbury on a free transfer Oli belived he needed first team action and the oppertunity to work his way back up to the 'big time' which is one of the reasons why he joined Brentford,

"I don't look at this as a step down," he insisted
"It's simplay an oppertnity to show what I can do on a regular basis"

After playing only one game for the North Londoners, joining the West London Champtionship side was no problem,

"It is a chance to get my career off the ground, I became a footballer to play not simply to sit and watch from the sidelines. In the reserves you are not really playing for anything but at Brentford every point will count"
