Smith returns to Portman Road

But Tractor Boys boss Roy Keane has opted to recall Smith as cover for Delaney, who will now serve a suspension.

"We have brought back Tommy as cover and we've got Pim (Balkestein) as well so we are not too bad for numbers," Keane told the club's official website.

"I was thinking of bringing him back anyway. He's been training with us and you can see he's benefited from going to Brentford because he's been playing games."
