Sodje: Next to leave Brentford?
With all the goings at Brentford in the last two weeks, it is not by now a shock that another player may want to leave Griffin Park in the Summer.

After a sucessful season Martin Allen departed (officially) yesterday following a series of events which saw him hand in his resignation, midfielder Jay Tabb will be joining Martin Allen in pastures new after being placed on the transfer list, followinf his dream of playing at a higher level and now defender Sam Sodje believes that he may be next to leave the West London club.

Partly motivated by his managers departure and the disapointment of a second sucessive playoff semi final defeat Sodje has told the press this morning that he hopes Brentford will consider any offers which may come in for him over the post season period.

"Martin would not settle for second best and I am the same."

"Like Martin my contract at brentford has a year to go, but I think one or two clubs are interested in me and Brentford might welcome the fee I could fetch"

It appears that of the many names been thrown into the hat as the new Brentford manager, they are likely to begin life selling or even possibly without the most valuable player the club posesses. A huge turn off for any potential candidate.

"It will be up to Brentford but I need to play at the highest level. If a club from a higher division wanted me I'd be interested, but I turned down a move to Southampton because it wasnt right. I won't be moving just for the sake of it I am ambitious and I want to futher my career."

At 25 Sam could command a fee of up to two million pounds, which could be welcome news for Chairman Greg Dyke who admitted yesterday that the club struggled to balance the books last season. Sodje went onto say,

"We worked hard to get into the playoffs in the past two season, and were so disapointed to go out in the semi finals."

"I need a challenge and hopefully I will be able to get that"
