Sam Sodje looks likely to be joining Southampton in a 1 million pound deal since falling out of favour at Reading.
The big defender was hoping to stay at Reading and fight for his place but George Burley needs a replacement for Chris Baird. Sodje left Brentford in Summer 2006 for around £350,000.
