Sonko: Has agreed to stay for another year
Ibrahima Sonko, has given Brentford manager Wally Downes a massive boost ahead of pre-season training, by agreeing to stay at the club for a further twelve months.

The club exercised their option in offering Sonko a one-year extension at the end of last season, and the official website has now reported that the Senegal U23 star will sign on the dotted line, upon his return to England next week.

The 22-year-old Sonko, made a total of 37 league appearances throughout the 2002/03 season, scoring five times, including a brace in the 5-0 rout of Blackpool last November.

It is hoped that Sonko and fellow centre half, Leo Roget, can build on the form they showed on the all too brief occasions the pair appeared in the first team together last term, the latter missing many games through injury.
