With both sides knowing that a defeat could seriously harm their promotion chances, Brentford and Swansea gave it their all during a Friday night encounter at the White Rock Stadium.

With the Swans just behind the Bees in the League and with the leaders playing tomorrow, Southend will have been delighted after the home side took an early lead. However when Frampton levelled the game it looked to be heading for a draw, however a late winner from Andy Robinson gave Swansea the three points and brought them closer to their defeated opponents who will now look to rebuild ahead of the next game in League One.

What the manager said?

Martin Allen was slightly disheartened by the defeat but admitted his side had played well,

"It was a fairly even game."

"After we equalised up until about seventy minutes we looked on top but we just couldn't get that second goal which would have given us a spur."

On his opponents he said,

"Swansea are a good side. They've become a force in this League and we matched their energy and effort so I'm happy with that"

What the players said?

Stuart Nelson spoke first and felt that his side were hard done by,

"We matched them in every department tonight and I think we deserved more"

"It's no consolation that we played well but we will be looking to get abck on track next week"

Sub Jamie Smith said,

"It was disapointing to lose tonight, the side looked really good but we just couldn't hold on for the point"

Echoing his thoughts, Marcus Gayle said,

"Swansea are a good side. Especially at home, they bring the game to you. I thought we handled them really well and cut the heat of the game. Unfortunately their winner came, though I feel it was a bit harsh"

What the fans said?

Swansea fan Shane Tinsdale said,

"Brentford played well but I think the swans deserved the victory"

"If nothing else at least it keeps the League interesting."

Disapointed Bee Darren East said,

"I think their last minute winner was a bit harsh. We did enough to deserve a draw at least"
