Thomas Frank discusses links to Tottenham job

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has responded to suggestions that he could succeed Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs have crashed out of both the FA Cup and Champions League in the last week, with Conte suggesting after Wednesday night's aggregate defeat to AC Milan that he could be sacked even before his contract expires in the summer.

90min reported earlier this week that Mauricio Pochettino would be interested in returning to Spurs should a vacancy arise, with numerous home supporters singing the Argentine's name on their way out of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday.

However, 90min understands that Frank - the first head coach to lead Brentford into the Premier League and are now in a fight for a European place - is another name being considered by Tottenham to replace Conte. Nevertheless, the Bees remain confident that he will stay at the club.

Speaking to the media on Thursday ahead of Brentford's trip to Everton, Frank was asked about the possibility of swapping west London for north London.

"First, they have a manager, which is a manager I've studied for years and I admire massively," Frank sternly said.

"I think he's achieved some fantastic results, I hope he will do well, I hope Spurs do well.

"And secondly, I am very, very happy here at Brentford."

Frank has previously insisted that Conte is 'probably the best coach in the world' when utilising three-at-the-back systems, while Tottenham are one of the remaining few sides Brentford have not beaten since promotion to the Premier League.
