Three players called up to International squads

If League and FA Cup concerns were not enough to distract the mind of Brentford players today then the welcome interuption of the naming International squads took place with three of the Bees players being summoned by their nations.

Nigerian Sam Sodje has been called up for his excellent defensive displays for Brentford and after missing out on the African Nations the player will be eager to impress with the upcoming World Cup and African Nations qualifying campaigns.


After an unsucessful African Nations Ghana have called up LLoyd Owusu who will be joined by West London's Michael Essien for their up coming friendly.

Midfielder Jay Tabb has also been once again named in the Rep. of Ireland's, under 21 squad and commenting on all three the manager said,

"It confirms what we are moving onwards and upwards. It is excellent recognition of what the players have been doing at League One level and I am very pleased for them."
