Transfer rumours: Mbappe's U-turn, Eriksen attracting interest

Coveted Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe could perform a dramatic U-turn and renew his contract in the French capital, despite intense and long-standing interest from Real Madrid. An announcement could be made as soon as May.

However, a third club is said to have entered the race for Mbappe's signature alongside PSG and Real Madrid. Barcelona have been ruled out of the running, leading to the possibility that Liverpool could be set to make their move.

Another player who the Reds and Real could be fighting over in the coming months is Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry. The former Arsenal man is considering leaving the Allianz Arena.

Christian Eriksen has emerged as a target for Manchester United and former club Tottenham, who have been impressed by his return to the Premier League with Brentford after his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020. The Dane would be available on a free transfer in the summer.

It has been suggested that another Ajax player could follow managerial target Erik ten Hag to Man Utd after Antony's name was in the headlines recently. Centre-back Jurrien Timber is also a player the coach would like to take with him to Old Trafford.

There is optimism at Barcelona that youngster Gavi will pen fresh terms at Camp Nou, but the midfielder has offers from some of Europe's top clubs so it will take a proportionate proposal to convince him to stay.

Meanwhile, Barça have reopened talks with contract rebel Ousmane Dembele, with a meeting held in Morocco. There is also confidence that central defender Ronald Araujo will extend his deal despite the club's pursuit of Chelsea pair Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger.

Newcastle are targeting Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and Brighton stopper Robert Sanchez, as well as Union Berlin striker Taiwo Awoniyi. The Magpies could also rival Aston Villa for Kalvin Phillips' signature, with the Tynesiders willing to offer the Leeds midfielder a £120,000-per-week deal.

In Italy, Roma's Tammy Abraham has admitted he would like to prove himself back in the Premier League at some point in the future. Meanwhile, across the capital at Lazio, perennial Man Utd target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is supposedly back on their radar once again as a possible replacement for Paul Pogba.
